What Are the Steps for the Dental Crown Procedure?

You may be surprised to learn that only two dental appointments are usually needed to get a custom-crafted crown. There may be more visits required if you need preliminary dental work, like a root canal.

Typically, the procedure starts with a dental examination to make sure that your damaged tooth has enough strength for a crown. If our dentist feels it can support a tooth cap, the damaged tooth gets scraped and smoothed before a dental impression is made that gets supplied to a lab for permanent crown production. Then, you go home with a temporary crown placed over the damaged tooth to keep it protected while your permanent crown is crafted.

Do You Have to Pay a Lot Money for a Crown?

Your total cost is actually based on the kind of crown you choose and your need for prior dental treatment. Rest assured that at least a portion of the dental crown cost is frequently covered in part by most discount dental plans and dental insurance policies.
